The Vietnam War

From 1948 to 1975, Vietnam experienced nonstop warfare as it threw off French control only to be invaded by U.S. forces attempting to prevent the spread of communism throughout Southeast Asia. This history charts how the American soldiers began by hunting guerilla fighters in the rice fields and using B-52s to bomb the jungles, but increasingly found themselves battling civilians in an unwinnable war.
